Ols’ music explores the magical realms of misty forests and mysterious wetlands. The songs are based on polyphonic vocal harmonies, complemented with instrumental parts which build a ritual and hypnotic character.
Ols is led by the multitalented artist Anna Maria Oskierko, and is a one-woman project in the full sense of the word – Anna composes the music, writes the lyrics, sings and plays all the instruments herself.
Her latest offering, “Widma”, is a concept album about late autumn which in human life corresponds to old age. The songs throughout the album lead the listener through the stages of growing older and autumnal dying – from the first hoarfrost, the first gray hair, through to the arrival of November darkness, loneliness, madness, up to the coming of winter and death.
