The Finnish pagan metal band VORNA will release their second full length album ”Ei valo minua seuraa” (transl. ”No Light Follows Me”) on 4th December 2015. The album will be released through Inverse Records.
The album has been mixed by Tuomas Kokko from Electric Fox Studios (e.g. Swallow the Sun, Ghost Brigade) and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde from Virtalähde Mastering (e.g. Black Crucifixion, Alghazanth, Ghost Brigade). The album cover artworks have been designed by Jarno Lahti from Kaamos Illustration & Design (e.g. Pain, Hypocrisy, Before the Dawn).
The lead-vocalist Vesa Salovaara shared a few words about the album recordings and about the actual album:
”This year has most certainly been Vorna’s busiest one to date and the whole album making process was quite intensive experience as well. The song material was constantly evolving from the earliest demo sessions in April all the way to the mixing which took place in July. As a result we think we’re holding our most mature, diverse and also, in a way, darkest album yet. Still, neither risks nor untamed intuitive ideas were avoided and we believe that one might find even somewhat surprising shades from it’s depths. Lyrically ”Ei valo minua seuraa” is dealing with quite universal and timeless themes. The story is fundamentally about a journey towards mental or spiritual equilibrium which is being torned by contradictive identities and generally estranged world.
”Jälkemme” represents the more straightforward approach of the album and that’s one of the reasons we chose it to be the first single. It’s quite a beast of a song and we believe it has a lot to offer in live environment. Come to our show and witness it yourself!”

Pagan Records is honoured to announce that legendary pagan black metal act Sacrilegium have finished recording material for their upcoming new album. This will be the band’s second full-length and follow-up to the cult release, Wicher(1996, Pagan Records). The first mix already sounds impressive and the band members are greatly excited. It is official, Sacrilegium are back!
Children’s Suicide Music is designed to provide an entertaining means of teaching children about the importance of losing hope. The 43-minute album, recorded with the Blliigghhtted line-up Emir, Merdumgiriz and Ruhanathanas, is continuing the drum and synth based bad trip of the sophomore “Kill Your Repulsive Child”. This time around, the music can best be described as Doom Metal without guitars, maybe suitable to call this album “Blackened Doom Synth”. Merdumgiriz’ vast and psychotic drumming alongside Ruhan’s and Emirs expansive and suffocating synths create the backdrop to mostly echo soaked chanted vocals. While having a ritualistic background, the music is very progressive in both style and form. Each song shows a great deal of variety in terms of musical ideas both within and without, while keeping a nostalgic overtone. The dreamlike lyrics are written in a time of depression that made the principle songwriter lock himself in a room for 6 months and they are meant to be a propagandist tale to make depressed children lose all hope and commit suicide. The music, composed at that same dark times is as unrelenting and dreamlike as the dungeons that the dark but strong cathedral production and psychotically depressive melodies present. Overall, this album is not only presenting an unarguably unique experience, but also one that is strangely addictive.
VIRANESIR birthed itself as an experimental musical project created by YAYLA mastermind Emir Toğrul. Originally intended as the solo project of the fictional main character in the film “Drink From The Fountain Of Uncertainty”. The project has released 6 full-length albums and a split since its inception, ranging from psychedelic synthpunk to experimental death metal.
As with all his work on Merdumgiriz Records, Emir Toğrul’s grand vision, each copy of the “Children’s Suicide Music: ((Ritual Of (Love) Is The Key))” CD and Tape will be made by hand in the artisanal style. Emir paints the discs, cuts and inserts the prints for the jewel case and jacket, making all non-machined parts from scratch. In their over 15 years-long career, marked by four full-lengths and numerous split releases, the highly respected French coven TEMPLE OF BAAL have evolved from a primitive Black/Thrash outfit into a monstrous Black/Death Metal entity of epic dimensions. “Verses Of Fire”, the last album (2013), was acclaimed worldwide as a milestone in the band’s career, allowing TEMPLE OF BAAL to perform at notable festivals such as Hellfest, Motocultor, Summer Breeze, Kings Of Black Metal and Speyer Grey Mass. The formation also played selected shows in France, Finland, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, sharing the stage with the likes of Watain, Antaeus etc.
As the album’s title suggests, “Mysterium” dwells on the topics of spirituality and religiosity. “From the opener, Lord Of Knowledge And Death, to the closing number, All In Your Name, every inch of this record drips with it” – comments the band. “Mysterium can be seen a collection of meditations and prayers over the mysteries of Faith, directed towards the gods of the left hand path”.
Musically, TEMPLE OF BAAL‘s Black Metal roots are back in full force, allowing the atmospheres to develop through songs of epic proportions, mostly clocking around 8 or 9 minutes each. “Mysterium”covers a wide musical specter, from slower ritualistic parts, to furious blasts and thrashy riffs or the surprisingly melodic choirs of“Magna Gloria Tua” and “Hosanna”, each song taking the listener into a spiritual journey, evolving through various climates, keeping the listener’s mind awake. “I never got that much into monotonous, uniform albums” – says band’s leader Amduscias. “I like music to take my mind from one point to another. Even if I have a strict view of what TEMPLE OF BAAL should be, stagnation is not something I’m very fond of.”
The recording of “Mysterium” took place in Hybreed Studios with long-time sound engineer, Andrew Guillotin (Glorior Belli, Mourning Dawn), who managed to capture the band’s trademark massive sounding, magnifying it through a warm and organic production. Cover artwork and layout have been prepared by David Fitt (Aosoth, Secrets of the Moon, Svart Crown) and Maria Yakhnenko.
Paying tribute to their old school roots, TEMPLE OF BAAL covers Bathory for the second time, with the song“The Golden Walls Of Heaven” closing the vinyl edition as a bonus track.

MEPHORASH is a black metal band hailing from Sweden featuring members of Malign, ex Ofermod. Their new album has been just released by Odium Records and it’s divided into 4 hymns which serves as a luminescent focal point for the fourfold rite of nullification of the four primal elements. Each track of the album features additional vocals from the vocalists of Malign, Hetroertzen, Embrace of Thorns and Fides Inversa.

Máte rádi syrový thrash a death metal bez příkras? Pak vězte, že 9. listopadu si ho v pražském Exit-u užijete dosytosti!
Z Pisy, města proslulé šikmé věže, přijedou Subhuman. Banda, která brázdí pódia od roku 2001, patří ve svém žánru k Italské špičce. Jejich muzika čerpá převážně za staré americké thrashové školy, Subhuman však přidávají i další prvky, hodně znatelné jsou vlivy evropského death metalu i moderní vlny technického metalu.
Už jejich první demo sklidilo kladné ohlasy a kapele byla prorokována skvělá budoucnost. První dlouho hrající deska Profondo Rozzo z roku 2009 předpoklady jen potvrdila a otevřela kapele dveře na velká pódia. Subhuman si zahráli po boku například In Flames, Deicide, Amon Amarth, Exodus, Behemoth a dalších hvězdných jmen, a zúčastnili se několika mezinárodních festivalů, mj. Evolution Festival 2008 nebo Gods of Metal 2010. Zatím poslední deska z roku 2012 nese název Tributo di sangue.
Známějším kolegům bude na turné sekundovat další parádní italská banda, Sinphobia z Verony. Na rozdíl od svých souputníků je tahle banda trošku víc do deathu a klade větší důraz na groove. Kapela funguje od roku 2009. Vloni vydala svoji první dlouhohrající fošnu, s jejímž názvem si příliš hlavu nelámala a nazvala ji prostě Sinphobia.
Female fronted death metalových kapel v poslední době přibývá, což vůbec není na škodu. Jednou z těch, které stojí za zmínku, jsou pražští Diligence. Rozhodně nehrají na líbivou notu, jejich muzika je promyšlená a pekelně složitá, orgasmus pro uši náročného posluchače. To vše podtrhuje mocný vokál drobné Dahlien, která řve také v litoměřických Keep on Rotting.
Kapela je od svého vzniku na přelomu let 2012 a 2013 velmi aktivní. Na kontě má tři singly, jedno EP, pár desítek koncertů a několik festivalů po celé České Republice. Za zmínku stojí například vystoupení s moldavskými Infected Rain, Hard Fest 2014 v Pohoří či letošní Death Cofee Party a dokonce i Trutnoff Open Air.
Teprve na počátku cesty stojí progressive thrashová smečka ze Šestajovic jménem Thrashing Machine. Jak už to tak u mladých kapel bývá, chvíli klukům trvalo, než se usadili v žánru a sestavě, nyní už však mají jasný směr a také první EP jménem Insight, které, byť má nějaké mouchy, zní překvapivě vyzrále a sálá z něj energie a pohoda, kapele tak vlastní při pódiových vystoupeních. Thrashing Machine v současnosti nahrávají své první dlouhohrající album.

„Culturally, I identify more with being a rapper then I do with the labels ´white´ or ´jewish´. I am from the south but fuck the KKK,“ říká o sobě Bleubird. Je ale potřeba dodat, že tenhle chlápek je víc pankáč než rapper. Jasně, rap je jeho vyjadřovací prostředek, ale přístup k muzice a všem věcem okolo? Punk. Pokud se ukáže, že něco funguje, je to ta nejlepší chvíle hodit všechno za hlavu a začít něco budovat znova. Bleubird (vlastním jménem Jacques Bruna) se narodil na Floridě (jeho táta byl přistěhovalec ze Švýcarska a máma byla hipízanda) a tenhle stát důchodců je prostě v jeho krvi – respektive instinktivní odpor ke všemu, co je strnulý, starý a bezpečný. Ve chvíli, kdy malej Jacques objevil desky 2 Live Crew a Public Enemy, našel i spolehlivou ZBRAŇ: rap. Vydává desky od roku 2000, žil v Kanadě i v Evropě, nemá stání. Aktuální album „Lauderdale“ (vyšlo stejně jako předchozí na skvělým Ceschiho labelu Fake Four) nezní jako NIC z aktuální produkce alternativního / indie rapu: žádná „chytrá“ produkce a inteligentní hra. Místo toho tvrdý, tlustý beaty a přímej útok na komoru. „When I made my last album I was too comfortable… it’s easy to make art when you’re comfortable,“ říká Bleubird. „The real good shit comes from the struggle… from the fire. I have no idea how much longer I’ll be able to keep this up, the intertwined mess of my passion/career is forever fleeting. Which makes it beautiful like LIFE! So this album is very IN the moment. Maybe I’m caught up and lost in the sticky swamp lands of Florida and the lifestyle that comes along with it?? Or maybe this is just another adventure… either way ALL WILL BE REPRESENTED HONESTLY.“

Koncert metalcorových Breakdown of Sanity a Clawerfield se z technických důvodů přesunuje do klubu Nová Chmelnice. Večer otevře německá kapela VITJA. Původní support Dream On, Dreamer pro nemoc zpěváka zrušil celé turné.
Osm let fungující Breakdown Of Sanity debutovali v roce 2009 albem The Last Sunset. Jasnější definici svého zvuku ale představili až na druhé desce Mirrors. Na třetí a zatím poslední desce Perception z roku 2013 sice ubrali na rychlosti a přidali víc melodických pasáží, avšak mohutný drive, silné emoce a precizní breakdowny zůstaly na svém místě.
Na evropském turné jedou Breakdown Of Sanity spolu se svými djent/metalcorovými krajany Clawerfield.

French black metal newcomers, VI, featuring current and ex-members of Aosoth, Antaeus and Aborted, are streaming their full new album, “De Praestigiis Angelorum”, exclusively through Metal Sucks. Listen to the album below, before it hits the stores on September 25th on Agonia Records:
The line-up of VI is shaped by INVRI (Aosoth, ex-Antaeus) on guitars and vocals,BST (Aosoth, ex-Antaeus, ex-Aborted) on bass and Blastum (ex-Aosoth, ex-Antaeus, Merrimack) on drums. Their forthcoming full-length material bestirs within the characteristic black metal niche developed by the said bands, with the addition of expanded guitar work, choirs and subtle sample parts. VI describes their music as“extreme, devoted black metal with illuminated chaos”.
The band have completed the entire recording process of their debut album in BST Studio (Antaeus, Hell Militia, Aosoth, Vorkreist) after five long years of comprehensive work. The cover artwork has been created by Alexander L. Brown(Leviathan, Stargazer, Bölzer, Darkthrone).

VI was formed in Paris (France) in 2007 as a main project of Aosoth‘s bass player INRVI (who took on guitar and vocal duites in VI). With the help of his long time comrade BST (also involved in Aosoth and The Order Of Appolyon), they released a four-track EP called “De Praestigiis Daemonum” under Debemur Mortii banner. Shortly after, VI found its drummer, Blastum, who worked and still works with bands such as: Antaeus, Merrimack, Aosoth and Ritualization. Together they recorded a split EP with Aosoth, “Angels Falling Down”, in 2010. More news on their debut album “De Praestgiis Angelorum” will follow soon.
The band is recommended for fans of Deathspell Omega, Funeral Mist, Aosoth, Ascension, Svartidauði and Antaeus.
